This includes, for instance:
- The first import of
hunting trophies of the species Ursus arctos (brown bear), Ursus arctos horribilis (grizzly bear), Felis silvestris (wild cat), Canis lupus (wolf), from the Annex A populations of Loxodonta africana (African elephant), Panthera pardus (leopard) and other species listed in Annex A to Council Regulation (EC) No. 338/97
- First import of ivory carvings from the Annex A populations of Loxodonta africana (African elephant) or Elephas maximus (Indian elephant)
- First import of parts or derivatives of other species listed in Annex A to Council Regulation (EC) No. 338/97

Re-import means the import of a previously exported or re-exported specimen back into the European Community.
