Conference „High Nature Value Farmland in Europe“
The conference was held at the International Academy for Nature Conservation Isle of Vilm, Germany, June 14th to 18th 2010, and organized by the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) in cooperation with the Institute for Agroecology and Biodiversity (ifab) and the European Forum for Nature Conservation and Pastoralism (EFNCP).
Background
High Nature Value (HNV) Farmland is the most fundamental and endangered nature infrastructure of the European agricultural landscape.
In spite of the fact that "HNV farmland" is a relatively new item it has evolved rather rapidly as a defined term.
But in fact there is only little understanding for the types and the occurrences of HNV farmland across Europe.
With a European conference the HNV farmland types as well as aspects of survey, monitoring and management across Europe shall be presented.
